Pick a board

Both 10mm. Both printed direct with UV inks. Both drop into the same base. The only question is how long it's staying up.

Solid core 10mm

Dense, dead flat, shrugs off knocks. For anything that lives in the room for months: reception, showroom, shop floor.

Recycled honeycomb 10mm

Lighter under the arm, fully recyclable when the event's over. For launches, shows and one-nighters. Same print, same finish.

The base

Aluminium wedge. The board slots in and stands bolt upright, no tools, no fiddling. It weighs next to nothing, packs flat and outlasts a dozen boards β€” reprint the board, keep the base.

A printed board, an aluminium wedge, done. No cassette, no fabric, no tools. Stands up straight, stays put, and when the message changes you reorder the board and keep the base.

The Way Finder is a 10mm rigid board printed direct with UV inks and dropped into a wedge base that holds it at a slight lean. It's the sign you see at the top of an escalator telling you which hall, the board at a registration desk saying check in here, the sponsor panel by the stage. Flat, sharp, and it looks like it was built for the room rather than wheeled in.

Where it earns its keep

  • Registration and check-in. "Speakers this way", "Collect your badge here". The first thing a guest reads.
  • Wayfinding in big venues. Hall numbers, breakout rooms, the route from the lobby to the dinner. One board per turn and nobody asks a steward.
  • Sponsor and partner boards. A clean logo wall by the stage or the bar that photographs well.
  • Retail and hospitality. Today's offer at the door, the menu by the pass, the pop-up in the atrium.
  • Receptions and offices. "Welcome, Acme Ltd" for the client visit. Swap the board for the next one.
  • Photo points and step-and-repeats. Pair two 100cm boards side by side for a fast, flat backdrop.
  • Open houses and showrooms. Property details, floor plans, prices, at eye height, no Blu Tack.

How it works

  1. Pick a width. 60, 80 or 100cm. All 150cm tall, so a headline sits at eye level.
  2. Choose the board. Solid 10mm for permanent displays, recycled honeycomb for events. Same print, same base.
  3. Send artwork, or let us set it up. Upload at checkout. We check every file by hand before it goes near a printer.
  4. Drop the board in the wedge. The base grips the bottom edge at an angle, so it can't fall forward. Ten seconds, no tools. Board out, next board in.

Wedge board or roller banner?

Both do a job. Pick on how it'll live, not on looks.

Way Finder wedge board

  • Flat and rigid. No curl, no ripple under lights.
  • Board is the cheap part. Reprint it, keep the base.
  • Reads as fitted signage. Better in a photo.
  • Travels flat. Needs a van or estate, not a tube.

Roller banner

  • Rolls into a carry bag. Goes on the Tube.
  • Cassette and graphic are one unit. Reprint means the lot.
  • Fabric or PVC can bow after a few outings.
  • Right answer if the same person carries it to every show.

Doing a run of events out of a van, or dressing one venue? Wedge board. Carrying it yourself on the train? Roller banner.

Solid or honeycomb?

Honeycomb core β€” the recyclable option.
  • Solid core 10mm. Dense, dead flat, takes knocks. Choose it for anything staying up for months: reception, showroom, retail.
  • Recycled honeycomb 10mm. Lighter to carry, fully recyclable when the event's over. Choose it for one-off events, launches and anything with a bin at the end of the day.

Print quality is identical on both. The base fits both.

Artwork in one breath

  • Set the page to the finished size: 600, 800 or 1000mm wide Γ— 1500mm tall, plus 3mm bleed all round.
  • Keep anything important 100mm up from the bottom edge. That's where the base sits.
  • Big type. This is read from three metres away, not thirty centimetres. 70pt is a starting point, not a maximum.
  • PDF is best. PNG, JPEG or a Canva export at 300dpi all work. We'll tell you if something won't print well before we print it.

Full detail, templates and bleed diagrams are in the artwork guide.

Turnaround

Order before 3pm, printed today. Same-day delivery across central London by courier, collection from Tabard Street SE1, or next-day UK-wide. Delivering to ExCeL, Olympia or the BDC? We do it most weeks β€” see the event delivery guide.

Questions we get asked

Can I reuse the base with a new design?

That's the point of it. Order "Board Only" in the same width and drop it in. The base is aluminium and will outlast a dozen boards.

Is it stable on carpet?

Yes. The wedge base has a wide footprint and the lean puts the weight over the base. It's fine on carpet, tile and wood. It's not for outdoors or anywhere with a draught you'd notice.

Can it be printed both sides?

Standard is single-sided, because one side usually faces a wall. If you need it double-sided for a corridor or a doorway, email hello@rapidprintpro.com with the size and we'll price it.

How does it arrive?

Flat, with the base packed separately. Nothing to assemble beyond dropping the board into the wedge. If it's going to a venue, put the stand name and hall on the delivery notes and we'll label it.

Which size should I get?

60cm for a desk-side sign or a single message. 80cm for a sponsor board or a menu. 100cm where it has to be read across a hall, or where two go side by side as a backdrop.

Do you have a template?

Set your document to the finished width Γ— 1500mm with 3mm bleed. If you'd rather we did it, upload your logo and copy and our artwork team will lay it out.

Try to use PDF

PDF logo for artwork

Save your files in PDF/X-1a:2001 format for optimal print accuracy.

However, if that's not possible, don’t worry—we’re flexible and will still accept PNG, JPEG, or any other format you have.

Our Artwork team is here to support you, so if there are any issues, they'll get in touch with a fix, a workaround, or maybe just to have a chat if they're feeling lonely!

Safe Area

image on 3mm margin for artwork guide by rapid print pro

Please ensure that any text is positioned at least 3mm away from the edges. While we strive for perfect cutting, there is always a small chance of movement. If you prefer a borderless background, extend it beyond the edge, but keep all important content 3mm away from the edges.

Resolution

Image showing high resolution artwork checking by Rapid print pro

Supplying high-resolution artwork guarantees sharp, clear prints with optimal detail and color accuracy. Images from WhatsApp, for example, won't produce crisp prints, so always export from Canva at 300dpi. Whenever possible, use original images instead of screenshots. Don't worry if you make a mistake—our artwork team will be your safety net and will catch anything that may need adjustment.

Text Size

Example of how large text should be on a business card

As a general rule, try to keep text above 6pt—of course, for designs like roller banners, you should use fonts 70pt and above. And, if you're working on a contract with the devil, maybe a font size below 6pt could be more fitting! In short, keep fonts above 6pt to ensure they are easily readable.

Make it Bleed

Bleed example for artwork

If you're lucky enough to have the Adobe package, set your bleed to 3mm in the document settings. This allows your artwork (such as backgrounds) to extend beyond the finished size into the bleed area. This way, any slight movement during cutting will be hidden, ensuring no white borders around the edges.

If you don’t have a design package, no worries! Simply make your artwork canvas 3mm larger on all sides. For example, if you're designing a business card that will be trimmed to 85mm x 55mm, your background should extend to 91mm x 61mm. Just remember, any text should be at least 3mm away from the 85mm x 55mm edge!

Transparency

image of a diagram explaining how transperency works

Printing digital artworks can come with one little issue—transparency. While it might not be visible on screen, it has a huge impact when it comes to printing. So, make sure to flatten any transparency before exporting.

Roller Banner

Example of how Roller Banner Artwork should be supplied

Roller banner artwork should be supplied at the product size, e.g., for a standard 80cm roller banner, artwork should be provided at 800mm x 2000mm with a 3mm bleed on all sides, if possible.

Our artwork team will then add an extra 150mm section below your design, which will be hidden inside the roller banner mechanism. This section helps attach the display to the pull-up banner.

Please, there’s no need to include this extra section in your artwork when submitting.
