Q: What sizes do stretch walls come in?

Eight widths: 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 2.4m, 3m, 4m, 5m and 6m. Every wall is 2.3m tall. The 3m is the one most people buy for launches and award nights. The 2.4m is the one that fits inside a 3m shell scheme stand.

Q: How fast can I get a stretch wall?

Order by 11am on a weekday and choose “I need it tomorrow”: it's with you next working day anywhere in the UK, or ready to collect from SE1 the next working day. Stretch walls aren't same day, the fabric needs a proper finish. Got more time? “I can wait 3 days” is the cheaper price.

Q: Which size fits a shell scheme stand?

Q: How long does it take to build? Do I need tools?

About five minutes once you've done it once, and no tools. The poles are numbered and click together with snap buttons, the fabric pulls over the top and zips along the base. One person can build up to 3m. For 4m and wider, a second pair of hands makes it quicker.

A stretch wall is a printed fabric sleeve pulled over a push-fit aluminium frame, like a pillowcase, and zipped shut along the base. The fabric pulls itself tight, so you get one seamless, matte graphic: no panels, no joins and no glare when the cameras come out.

Every kit is the full set: frame, printed graphic, feet and a padded carry bag. Printed on both sides as standard, built by one person in about five minutes, and the fabric goes in the washing machine when the season's over.

What arrives

What's in the bag.

Numbered aluminium frame. 30 to 32mm tube, snap-button joints, curved top corners. The numbers tell you what goes where.
Printed fabric graphic. 260gsm stretch polyester, printed both sides, with a zip along the base. Wrinkle-resistant and machine washable.
Two metal feet. Flat to the floor and hidden behind the fabric once it's zipped.
Padded carry bag. The whole wall packs into it. Car boot, cab or the Tube.
Nothing else. No tools, no fitting team, no van.

Bag to camera-ready

Built in five minutes.

Lay it out
Unzip the bag on a clear bit of floor and lay the poles out in number order. Feet and bottom bar nearest you, fabric to one side.
Build the base
Click the bottom bar sections together until the snap buttons pop, then slot each end into a foot.
Uprights, then the top
Add the upright sections one at a time, then join the curved top pieces across. Every button should be through its hole.
Check it's square
Give each joint a gentle tug and make sure both feet sit flat. Far easier to fix now than with the fabric on.
Pull the graphic over
The zip is the bottom. Lift the open end over the top bar, feed the corners in, and walk it down both sides evenly, like a giant pillowcase.
Zip and smooth
Zip along the base, tuck the spare fabric behind the feet and smooth from the centre out. Done.

Fabric looks loose?

A pole isn't fully home or the zip isn't closed. Either one steals the tension.

Won't reach the bottom?

The graphic is upside down, or two frame sections are swapped. Check the numbers.

Frame wobbles?

Reseat both feet and check every snap button has popped through.

Packing down is the same in reverse. Fold the fabric, don't scrunch it, and bag the poles in their groups.

Six things to get right on fabric.

Use the template

Design over the PDF for your width and the bleed, wrap and safe zone are done for you. Export as PDF/X-1a. AI, EPS and high-res JPEG are fine too, and we'll tell you before printing if something won't work.

Work to scale

Up to 3m, set up at full size or half size. 4m at half size. 5m and 6m at half or quarter size, so your software doesn't choke on a six-metre page.

Stay off the edges

The fabric wraps round the frame. Keep logos and text 150mm in from every edge and run the background right out to the bleed.

Go big on type

Stretch fabric softens fine detail. Nothing under 40pt, no lines under 2pt. It's read from across a hall, not across a desk.

Resolution

150dpi at full size is plenty, which is 300dpi at half size. Originals only: no screenshots, no WhatsApp forwards.

Flatten transparency

Transparency looks fine on screen and does strange things in print. Flatten before you export and what you see is what you get.

How do I set up the artwork?

Download the template for your width and design over it. Keep logos and text 150mm in from every edge, run the background right out to the bleed, and export a PDF. Up to 3m works at full size or half size. 4m and wider is easier at half or quarter size. 150dpi at full size is plenty. The stretch wall template guide has the annotated template.

I don't have a designer. Can you set it up?

Yes. Upload your logo and the wording, add “please set up” in the order notes, and we'll lay it out in the template and send you a proof to approve before it prints.

Can I wash it? What about creases?

Yes. The graphic is 260gsm stretch polyester and machine washable: a cool 30°C wash, no tumble dryer, then back on the frame. Fold lines from the bag pull out once it's zipped on and under tension.

Can I keep the frame and change the graphic?

Yes. The frame lasts for years, so a new campaign only needs a new graphic. Email hello@rapidprintpro.com with your wall width and we'll price a replacement print.

Can I use it outdoors?

It's an indoor display. A 2.3m fabric wall is a sail in any wind, and the feet aren't weighted for it. For outside, look at flags or PVC banners.

What if I order on a Friday or at the weekend?

Order by 11am on Friday and it can be with you on Saturday (£19.99) or Monday. After 11am on Friday, or over the weekend, it goes into production on Monday for Tuesday delivery.
