One sheet of PVC, printed edge to edge. On its own it's a sheet. What makes it a banner is the edge. Keep scrolling.

Step 1 · the hem

Hemmed. All four sides.

The edge is folded back on itself, so every side is double thickness. It won't fray, and it gives the eyelets something to bite into.

Step 2 · the eyelets

An eyelet every 50cm.

Metal eyelets punched through the hem, roughly every half metre, corners included. A 1 × 2m banner gets twelve.

Up close

Four layers. One eyelet.

A metal grommet through the front, two layers of PVC where the hem folds back, and a washer on the back, all clamped together. That's why it doesn't tear out in the wind.

Step 3 · put it up

Railings. Scaffold. Fences.

Cable ties, bungees, rope or hooks through the eyelets. Out of the tube and up in ten minutes, no tools.

Putting it up

Four ways to hang it.

No tools beyond scissors for most of them. Whatever you use, tie every eyelet: a loose one is where the tearing starts.

Railings, scaffold, fencesCable tiesThe fastest and the tightest. One tie through every eyelet, pulled snug, ends snipped. Bring scissors to take it down.

Gazebos, poles, eventsBungee tiesBall bungees loop through the eyelet and round the pole. A bit of give means the banner moves with the wind instead of fighting it.

Between two posts or treesRopeThread it through the top eyelets for a quick hang across a gap. Tie off the bottom corners too, or it'll flap.

Walls, fascias, fence panelsHooks or screwsA screw or hook through each eyelet into the wall or timber. Best for banners that stay up for weeks.

Six things to get right on a banner.

One PDF, at size

Set the PDF up at the banner size: a 1 × 2m banner is 1000 × 2000mm. JPEG and PNG are fine for photos.

Keep clear of the edge

Keep text and logos 50mm in from every edge. That's where the hem folds back and the eyelets go. Run the background colour right to the edge.

Resolution

Banners are read from metres away, so 100 to 150dpi at full size is plenty. A good phone photo works up to about 1 × 1.5m. Screenshots and WhatsApp images won't.

Make it readable

Big, short and high contrast. Rule of thumb: about 25mm of letter height for every 3 metres of distance. On a 1 × 3m shop banner the main line should be at least 200mm tall.

Colour

CMYK is safest. Bright RGB oranges, greens and blues come out a touch duller on PVC. For big solid black areas use C40 M30 Y30 K100.

Canva and PowerPoint

Both work. In Canva, set a custom size in mm and download as PDF Print. A person checks every file before it prints and will tell you if anything sits too close to the eyelets.

Can I get a banner the same day?

Yes. Order by 3pm, Monday to Friday, and it's printed, hemmed and eyeleted today. Collect free from 27 Tabard Street, SE1 4LA, have it couriered across London (arrives same day, £45), or DPD next working day from £6.99.

How far apart are the eyelets?

About every 50cm along every edge, corners included. A 1 × 2m banner has 12; the table on this page shows the count for every size.

Is every banner hemmed?

Yes, all four sides. The edge folds back so it's double thickness where the eyelets go. It won't fray and the eyelets won't pull through.

How long will it last outside?

Weeks outside without fading, with UV-stable inks on thick PVC. Tie every eyelet and keep it taut and it'll take a lot of wind and rain.

What about strong wind?

Tie every eyelet, keep it tight, and use bungees rather than rope if it's exposed so it can flex. For very windy spots like high scaffold, email us first and we'll talk it through.

How do I put it up?

Cable ties for railings and scaffold, bungees for poles and gazebos, rope between posts, or screws and hooks into a wall. You don't need any tools beyond scissors.

How does it arrive?

Rolled in a tube, by DPD or courier, or collected from SE1. Unroll it and lay it flat for a bit before you hang it.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes. Halls, sports centres, stages, shop interiors. It's the same banner.

Can I get a different size?

Nine sizes are on the configurator, up to 1.5 × 3m. For something else, email hello@rapidprintpro.com with the width, height and quantity.

Can I have pole pockets instead of eyelets?

Not on this product: every banner is hemmed with eyelets. For something different, email hello@rapidprintpro.com.

Yes. Send the words, your logo and any photos to hello@rapidprintpro.com and we'll lay it out and send a proof before printing.

Are prices ex VAT?

Yes. 20% VAT is added at checkout. The price box at the top shows both, plus the delivery you've picked.
